Before Jesus left this world to return to heaven He gave his disciples a command to baptize people who made the choice to follow Him. This baptism was for the purpose of publicly declaring a person’s decision to follow Jesus.
We believe the decision to follow Jesus’ command to be water baptized is an essential part of following Jesus for the following reasons:
Water baptism is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus.
Water baptism aligns yourself with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. As was customary in the Bible, we practice baptism by immersion.
Water baptism is both a reminder and a celebration of the spiritual truth found in 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
We encourage any person who has chosen to follow Jesus and hasn’t yet been baptized in water to make that a priority of their spiritual journey. If it is your desire to follow Jesus’ teaching to be baptized, please contact Pastor Brian.
